Opening of the University of Cologne Liaison Office
With the opening of the University of Cologne office, 27 representations of German universities are now under one roof at the German House New York.
The new liaison office was inaugurated on April 7, 2011, by Dr. Horst Freitag, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York; Dr. Sebastian Fohrbeck, Directorof DAAD North America and GCRI Governing Director; and Prof. Dr. Axel Freimuth, President of the University of Cologne.
Represented by Stefanie Grupp-Clasby, UoC’s new New York office reports to the International Office of the University of Cologne, whose deputy director Dr. Christiane Wille, along with other UoC representatives, attended the inaugural breakfast.
In addition to intensifying and launching partnerships with U.S. universities,the liaison office will organize delegation visits and serve as a first point of contact for faculty and students in the United States and Canada who are interested in UoC. It will also implement the Universityof Cologne's summer school in New York and reach out to the University's network of German and international alumni residing inthe United States or Canada.
