Opportunities for Funding and Research in Germany

This workshop presented resources for funding and research in Germany to medical graduate and postdoctoral students.

The workshop took place at Weill Cornell Medical College, and audience members hailed from the Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and other research institutions in New York. Joann Halpern, Director of the GCRI, highlighted opportunities with organizations in Germany such as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Helmholtz Association, Leibniz Association, and Max Planck Society.

Peter Kerrigan, Deputy Director of the DAAD’s New York office, outlined DAAD’s funding and programs available to North Americans seeking graduate study and research prospects in Germany. Max Vögler, Director of DFG’s Washington office, elaborated on DFG’s postdoctoral and junior research grants and programs for North Americans.
