GCRI at Association of International Education Administrators Annual Conference
GCRI Director Dr. Joann Halpern gave a talk on “Preparing Students for the Global Workforce in the 21st Century – New Challenges and Opportunities.”
The program theme for the 2015 conference was “Leading Global Learning: Envisioning New Paradigms.”
The 2015 AIEA conference explored leadership implications for the future, including: How do international education leaders prepare students to live in today’s diverse, complex world, and to engage successfully in the global marketplace? How can higher education institutions be accountable to local, state, and national governments and accrediting bodies with regard to global learning efforts? Who should be collaborative partners beyond business and government? What technologies are to be anticipated for the future, and how can leaders harness emerging technologies for meaningful internationalization? Furthermore, how can educators facilitate students’ deeper engagement with global issues and questions in their daily lives? Above all, how do educators and leaders anticipate and embrace the challenges of the higher education landscape of the early 21st century, and prepare students to navigate this unfamiliar topography?
