The panel discussion focused on the introduction of national standards in education - a topic that has become more and more relevant, both in the United States and in Germany over the last two decades. It is related to heated public debates over policies such as the No Child Left Behind Act in the United States and the PISA study in Germany. Experts in the field provided an overview of the situation in each country before opening the floor to a discussion of these educational strategies from a transatlantic perspective.
