Topics that were addressed include marine conservation and marine protected areas, environmental change and sea level rise, the valued ocean – the deep ocean and ocean services, and the question of stakeholder involvement – all at the cutting edge of ocean sustainability solutions science. A session on joint funding opportunities with representatives from the funding organizations DFG, DAAD, AvH, and the U.S. NSF as well as the GCRI complemented the event.
