GCRI at 15th GAIN Annual Meeting
The 2015 Annual GAIN Meeting on career opportunities and recent developments in higher education took place in San Francisco, CA.
Each year, and alternating between the West and the East coasts, German research and funding organizations invite young German scientists and researchers, who are working in North America, for a weekend meeting on career opportunities and recent developments in global higher education.The 2015 Annual GAIN Meeting took place from August 28-30, 2015, in San Francisco, CA.
In 2015, the conference attracted more than 400 participants, among them 300 postdoctoral students and more than 100 heads of research organizations, high-ranking government officials as well as representatives from the higher education and private R&D sector.
The German Academic International Network (GAIN) is a network of German scholars and scientists in North America. Created to improve the flow of information on current career opportunities at German universities, research institutions and in the private business sector, GAIN is a joint initiative of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG), as well as a number of associated members, including the German Rectors' Conference, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, Leibniz Association, Max Planck Society, and German Cancer Aid.
