GCRI at 14th GAIN Annual Meeting
This year's Annual GAIN Meeting on career opportunities and recent developments in higher education took place in Boston, MA.
Each year, and alternating between the West and the East coasts, German research and funding organizations invite young German scientists and researchers, who are working in North America, for a weekend meeting on career opportunities and recent developments in higher education.
This year's Annual GAIN Meeting took place from September 5-7, 2014, in Boston, MA. The conference attracted more than 400 participants, among them 300 postdoctoral students and more than 100 heads of research organizations, high-ranking government officials as well as representatives from the higher education and private R&D sector.
The German Academic International Network (GAIN) is a network of German scholars and scientists in North America. Created to improve the flow of information on current career opportunities at German universities, research institutions and in the private business sector, GAIN is a joint initiative of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG), as well as a number of associated members, including the German Rectors' Conference, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, the Leibniz Association, the Max Planck Society, and the German Cancer Aid.
